Tools
Free, interactive tools for Northern Ireland businesses, councils and anyone working on carbon and environmental compliance. Facts are as at 18 October 2026. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is stored on a server.
The Carbon Jigsaw
A rough carbon checker for Northern Ireland businesses. Fill in each piece of the jigsaw from your bills and records: electricity, gas, oil, vehicles, refrigerants, water, waste, travel and commuting. You’ll get a rough Scope 1, 2 and partial Scope 3 footprint, and the pieces you can’t fill show what a full inventory would add. Your figures stay in your browser. Practise first with the sample bills.
The Scopes Map
Scope 1, 2 and 3 on one diagram, with all fifteen Scope 3 categories and their technical definitions. It also covers the grey zones clients ask about: gas that leaks before or after the meter, LPG that isn’t a counted gas, water from a borehole, grey-fleet mileage, landlord-supplied energy, and which gases count at all.
Farm Carbon Data Checker
For Northern Ireland farms asked for carbon data by a processor, supermarket, lender or scheme. Pick your enterprises, then mark each record as something you have, can get or are missing. It shows how ready you are for a Scope 1, 2 and 3 report and exactly where to find each missing record, from APHIS and milk statements to your Soil Nutrient Health Scheme results. It checks records only and doesn’t calculate emissions. Your answers stay in your browser, and you can copy or download the checklist.

Dashboards
Northern Ireland data on one page, from official statistics, with every table downloadable as CSV. The first is NI Agriculture and Land Carbon: farm and land emissions from 1990 to 2024, nutrients, livestock, peatland, F-gases and the measures that cut them.
The Land Repair Helix
A design tool for healthier land, now with 22 base pairs. Each base pair links a problem (compacted soil, fertiliser overuse, flooding, blue-green algae, contamination, forever chemicals, oil spills, mown-out verges, flailed hedges) to the low-cost or nature-based fix that answers it. Choose your type of site and it builds a starter plan.

Incoterms Chooser
Four questions to find the Incoterms® 2020 rule that matches how you split transport, risk, insurance and customs with your buyer or seller. Includes a who-does-what matrix for all 11 rules, plus notes on GB–NI movements, EU trade and CBAM.
The Joined-Up Wheel
Eight environmental issues that most firms handle separately: carbon, energy costs, land, waste and packaging, forever chemicals (PFAS), water, environmental health, and policy and public affairs. All of them feed the same business goals. Pick an issue to see what triggers it, the rules today and the routes in. Pick a goal to see which issues it depends on.
ESG Regime Tracker
Carbon and sustainability rules across the UK, Northern Ireland, the EU, North America, Australasia and the UN, comparing the position in 2023 with the position now. Filter by market, by status, or by what matters to NI manufacturers and to councils and public bodies.
The Carbon Crossword
Twenty-four terms from greenhouse gas reporting, carbon pricing and Northern Ireland’s climate rules. Easy clues define the term; hard clues assume you’ve read the guidance. Use it as a team quiz, a workshop warm-up, or a printable handout with the answers on a separate page.
Planet Check: GCSE quiz
Twenty-eight questions on the atmosphere, water, resources and ecosystems, linked to GCSE science and geography topics, plus a Real world NI set on Lough Neagh, peatlands and NI’s climate targets. Nothing is collected or stored, so it’s safe for classroom use.

Scope Sort
Twenty-two everyday business activities to sort into Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3 or “not counted”. Some are easy; some trip up professionals, like biomass CO₂, butane leaks and a unit billed through the landlord. Every answer comes with the reason.
Pillar Clash
Ten real dilemmas where environmental, social and governance goals pull against each other: the cheap low-carbon import, the plant closure, the offset shortcut. Watch the three gauges move with each decision. There are no free wins.
Acronym Match
CBAM, SECR, ESOS, NIEA, SuDS and more: match each acronym to its meaning, six per round. Choose Core for the essentials or Everything for all 33. Each match explains why it matters.
Guides
E-waste Unpacked
What’s inside discarded electricals: precious, critical and rare metals, the poisons that must come out first, how a WEEE treatment line is audited, and why reuse and design beat shredding.
