· Food and drink · Carbon · Deforestation · Packaging · Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland’s food and drink processors turn over an estimated £7.1bn, and almost half of their sales go to Great Britain. This week’s briefing covers where their emissions sit, why the farm is in every processor’s footprint, and a new section on drinks, and seven new rules arriving in fourteen months, from EU deforestation checks on 30 December to deposit return in October 2027.
